Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Why does Italian Olive Salad congeal when refrigerated?
A. Olive oil, an ingredient in Italian Olive Salad,
may congeal when exposed to cold temperatures. Simply remove the Italian Olive
Salad from your refrigerator and place at room temperature for a few minutes.
The olive oil will return to its liquid state and be ready for usage.
Q. Why does Italian Olive Salad need refrigeration after the container is
opened?
A. Italian Olive Salad is submersed in olive oil, which
suspends the food product pH and inhibits bacterial growth. Through use, the
olive oil level lowers and food particles are sometimes exposed to the air and
moisture. Refrigeration slows bacterial growth.
Q. Why do I sometimes find an olive pit in Italian Olive Salad?
A. Olives are pitted through a mechanical process and
are visually inspected. The pitted olives are then chopped and again visually
inspected. As olives are a natural product, and even after our best efforts, a
pit or fragment may not be detected. We advise that you should also make a
visual inspection of the Italian Olive Salad prior to its usage.
